Trivia Night…In It to Win It or Win Him?

Trivia Nights — Atlanta, GA.

I’m now putting my endless amount of useless knowledge to work.  I joined up with some friends and now attend Tuesday-night trivia at a local restaurant in town.  Trivia is played in bars and restaurants all across the country, and usually the prize is house cash.  I’m not going to lie, we’re good.  Our team can corner the market on obscure topics.  That makes us some friends, but a lot of enemies.

The side benefit of playing trivia and spending time with friends is that Trivia Night is usually populated with groups of twenty and thirty somethings.  A prime opportunity to meet people your own age.  You would think.  While there are several attractive guys at the restaurant every week, I’ve noticed that people pretty much stick to their team.  There is no crossing into enemy territory when there is house cash on the line.

Is anyone facing a similar problem?  If so, does anyone have advice on bridging the gap?  Trivia has such potential, and it’s a shame to see it go to waste!

When I did use trivia to meet men, it was usually disappointing. If they were as good or surprisingly even better than me, they were smug. If they were not good at trivia, they kept giving me their dumb, wrong suggestions and got ticked when I ignored them. I don’t think Trivia is the place to meet guys, but it sure is fun once you’ve hooked an equal.
